Dr.
Stephen E. Small is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon
who is highly skilled in cosmetic surgery. He is licensed to practice in New Jersey, New
York and Ohio. He holds staff privileges at Southern
Ocean County hospital, Community Medical Center and Kimball
Medical Center.
At the Cleveland Clinic Health System, Dr. Small completed his training in plastic
and reconstructive surgery at South Pointe Hospital . There he refined his skills

As an undergraduate at the Pennsylvania State University
he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in physiology
with Distinction and Honors. Dr. Small earned his doctorate
degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
and was recognized for his scholarship with induction into
the medical honors society.
Dr. Small completed a five year
general surgery residency at the University of Medicine and
Dentistry in Stratford , New Jersey . He served as chief resident
and was recognized nationally for achieving the highest academic
score in the nation for the surgical in-service exams multiple
times. In addition, Dr. Small was actively involved in research
and recognized with resident achievement awards for his research,
clinical skill and leadership.
After his general surgery training,
Dr. Small completed a fellowship in burn and reconstructive
surgery at New York Medical College , Westchester Medical
Center in Valhalla , New York . As the burn fellow, Dr. Small
became a proficient and respected burn and reconstructive
surgeon. Dealing with hundreds of adult and pediatric burn
victims he has vast experience with this critically injured
population. In addition, Dr. Small has received extensive
experience and up-to-date training in the latest techniques
in breast reconstruction, craniomaxillofacial and hand surgery.

Dr. Small completed his training in plastic surgery. At South
Pointe Hospital, Dr. Small served as the chief resident in
plastic surgery while being involved on the national Residency
Evaluations and Standards Committee, American College
of Osteopathic Surgeons, for training future residents.
